Promoting sustainable development, holding on to what has been achieved and talking about it. One of the main responsibilities sports officials have in their effort to serve as role models is to ensure internal and external representation.
For sports clubs, the following goals are relevant to achieve sustainability:
- The sustainability goals of the United Nations offer a great framework for sports clubs to engage with sustainability.
- To ensure the long-term sustainable development of a sports club, quality assurance measures should be adopted in a participatory process
- In addition, sports officials and/or club members should receive appropriate training and education in sustainable development.
- For the sake of sustainable development, a club’s activities should be communicated internally and also to the outside world.
