Privacy policy statement:

We are highly committed to protecting the privacy of your personal data. For that reason, we process your data exclusively in accordance with the legal requirements (GDPR, Telecommunications Act of 2003 [TKG 2003] Data Protection Act [DSG]). The purpose of this privacy policy statement is to acquaint you with the most important aspects of data processing that come to bear when you visit our website.

Contact

If you contact us by email, the information you provide will be stored for a period of six months solely for the purpose of processing your enquiry and any follow-on enquiries. This data will not be disclosed without your explicit consent.

Disclaimer for links

Our site includes links to external third-party websites, the content of which is not in our control. Therefore, we cannot accept any liability for such third-party content. Responsibility for the content of the webpages to which the links refer always rests with the operator and provider of these pages. The continued monitoring of the linked pages cannot be reasonably expected without any specific indications of a violation of the law. Whenever a breach of the law is found, we will be sure to remove any such links without undue delay.

Cookies

Our website uses what are known as cookies. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your terminal device by your browser. They do not cause any damage.
We use cookies to help ensure that our services are user friendly. Some cookies will remain stored on your device until you delete them. They allow us to identify your browser the next time you visit our website and automatically restore settings you selected.
If you do not agree to this, you can set your browser to ensure that you are notified whenever a cookie is added, which will allow you to accept cookies only on a case-by-case basis. Follow the links below to find out how to do this in the most commonly used browsers.

However, disabling cookies may prevent you from taking full advantage of some of the features of our website, and you will be unable to take the self-test because the test requires cookies for the temporary storage of test results. However, a link next to the test can be used to clear the relevant cookie immediately after the test and delete all the data.

Social media plugins

We have social media buttons on our website for you to share content from our website on the following social media services: Facebook, Twitter, Google plus and LinkedIn. However, please be advised that you need to actively push one of these buttons to share content. If you do not actively push the social media button of your choice, no data will be transmitted. We use what is known as the ‘Shariff’ solution to create these buttons in order to protect your privacy.

Web analysis using Google Analytics

Our website uses features provided by the web analysis service Google Analytics, Google LLC (Google), registered office: Mountain View, California, USA. For this purpose, cookies are implemented to analyse use of the website by your users. The information generated thereby is sent to the provider’s server and stored there.

The data is processed in accordance with the provisions of sec. 96(3) Telecommunications Act (TKG) and Article 6(1)(a) (consent) and/or (f) (legitimate interest) of the GDPR.

You can prevent the processing of your data by adjusting the settings in your browser so that no cookies are stored. Your IP address is saved and anonymised immediately (by deleting the final 8 bits) before it is transmitted to the Google servers. As a result, only approximate localisation is possible. Relations with the web analysis provider are based on the ‘EU-US Privacy Shield agreement of the EU’.

Our objective within the meaning of the GDPR (legitimate interest) is to improve our services and our website. Since we care about our users’ privacy, user data is anonymised prior to transmission.

Server logs

The following data are recorded in the server logs on our website: the user’s IP address along with the data at the time of a user’s visit, the purpose of the visit/query, the transmitted data volumes, a status code telling us whether the visit was successful, the browser used, the operating system used, the website from which the visit was launched (if a link was used). This data is recorded solely for the purpose of ensuring system security. The server logs are retained for a period of 6 months.

Your rights

Generally, you have the right to access your data, the right to rectification and erasure, the right to restrict processing, the right to data portability, the right to withdraw your consent and the right to object to the processing. If you believe that your data is being processed in breach of data protection law or your rights under data protection law are otherwise infringed, you may file a complaint with the supervisory authority. In Austria, this is the Data Protection Authority. Should you wish to exercise your right to withdraw consent or your right to object to the processing of your personal data in connection with this website, you can send a short email to the data protection officer’s email address indicated above.
